As tasty and nutritious as fruit and vegetables are, they can be coated in  pesticide residues which can be toxic. Pesticides are designed to kill living things harmful to the crops such as weeds, insects, fungus , rodents, etc. The Environmental Working Group (EWG) has composed a list of the dirty dozen and a list of the clean fifteen both in which help make people aware of the foods with the highest amount of pesticides (the dirty dozen) and the foods with the lowest amount of pesticides (the clean fifteen). It is recommended to wash fruits and vegetables with a vegetable wash or like I do with a DIY Fruit and Veggie Wash that can be made by using water and apple cider vinegar.
