Yesterday’s post was quite hard to write and involved some musing on a time in my life that wasn’t especially pleasant. So, I thought I would focus on something more positive today. Gratitude. Most of us were told to “count our blessings” when we were growing up. Well, it turns out that doing so actually makes you into a happier, less stressed person. Scientists such as UC Davis psychologist, Robert Emmons, author of Thanks!: How the New Science of Gratitude Can Make You Happier, are discovering that people that are grateful for what they have rather than dwelling on past disappointments enjoy the following:
